2017 Social Activités

We had some very fun social events during the 2017 riding season, and would like to re-cap the highlights below:

  • Random acts of social events:  Groups of riders would spontaneously decide on a location for apré ride dining.  One of the favorites, which also happens to be a sponsor of VIC2 was MIYO in the Marketplace off Happy Canyon Road and Santa Fe.  MIYO loves the Village Idiots, so visit often!  25% off entire bill every time you go…just mention that you’re an Idiot, and they will chuckle and give you 25% off!
  • The annual Signature Ride:  Hosted by The Village Idiots Cycling Club!  On August 20, 2017 @ Phillip Miller Park, we met at the park and headed out for a 2- hour ride around the Castle Rock area finding/documenting beautiful outdoor art in Douglas County.  Lunch was served at the Pavillion afterwards, along with delicious pot luck items brought by riders.  Thanks to Doug Waltermire and Mike Finger for setting up the art tour!
  • Steamboat Springs, Colorado:  Our annual long weekend ride this year was in Steamboat Springs!  Social dining events were scheduled Thursday, September 14th thru Sunday, September 17th.  Riders enjoyed socializing around the hot tub at the hotel, or driving to Strawberry Park hot springs to sooth the muscles after the beautiful, long rides!
  • End of Year Dinner:  The howdown @ Cañon Ranch on Sunday, October 1, 2017.  This event was catered by Serious Texas Bar-B-Q, owned and operated by member Tom Tulk!  The food was delicious and the venue was perfect for socializing and closing the riding year!  Thank you to the Garcia’s for opening up their beautiful property for our enjoyment!
