Route map- Vail - ~40 miles and 3500 feet of climbing. All bike path except for roads within Vail Village. This ride has a long but moderate grade. Cyclists have the availability of stopping and returning at the top of Vail pass (or at any point they may decide to return) or continuing down to Copper mountain as an endpoint, before returning back over the pass. The miles listed are for the entire route to Copper and back.
The start point will be at the Vail Village Parking garage (see below). Be ready to depart at 0730.
This ride is doable as a longer day trip, or members have the option of booking lodging overnight in Vail or the vicinity. For those arriving the night before, an optional meetup will be planned. A post ride lunch will also be planned in the Vail Village area.
Directions: The Vail Village parking garage is accessed off I-70 at the 176 exit. Cross underneath the highway and proceed East on the frontage road.a short distance, to the parking structure on your right. The meet up will be in the front (slopeside) of the structure by the Colorado Ski and Snowboard museum.
